Recent CommentsRecommended by a friend. I wish I had this years ago. I have never seen so much pertinent, helpful information in one place. I know I will be using this book over and over. There are lots of great ideas, even how to write for the not so good performers. Excellent! This is the first Air Force book I've come across that breaks away from repeating the vague instructions found in Air Force manuals and gets into the real, nitty gritty details of daily writing requirements. This is not a textbook on grammar or sentence structure but it does have lots of examples and has already saved me a lot of time writing EPRs. This is one of those "how-to" books that comes along and fills an obvious void. As someone who has had a lot of experience with learning things the hard way, it's ALWAYS nice to come across a reference that spells it all out. Since I don't have time to worry about whether I write a report correctly or not, and hate dealing with the repercussions of doing something the wrong way, I know this book is going to be a good investment. So far I've used parts of it in real-life situations (and skimmed the rest - because, let's face it, it's a reference), and I've found it to be easy-to-use and of course, extremely informative. The author obviously knows what he's talking about. He provides useful examples on just about any task an Airman or NCO is likely to encounter. I know I'll be using this book over and over. This is a wonderful and useful resource! A new tool for supervisors. Thanks! MSgt Parker's experience in the Air Force is condensed and made available to you in this handy guide to writing reports, EPRs, etc. It focuses on the Air Force but I think members of other services would be able to use the book as well. The subject matter covered ranges from bullet examples and acronyms to helpful hints such as 'how to conceal negative meaning'; hints which might come in handy from time to time in the bureaucratic world of the military where how you say it often means more than what you say. This is a great book! I always have trouble with writers block but this book points me in the right direction and overcomes the biggest obstacle when writing... the first step! Thanks. |
