I created this site in 2005 as a resource for AF members. I'm a retired Air Force MSgt with over 24 years in and a little time on my hands. I've been stationed at:

• Clark Air Base, Republic of the Philippines (now closed)
• Williams AFB, AZ (now closed)
• Wallace Air Station, Republic of the Philippines (now closed)
• Charleston AFB, SC
• Misawa Air Base, Japan
• MacDill AFB, FL
• Patch Barracks, Stuttgart, Germany

The reason I host this site is to help Air Force members who need the information. During my own career, I encountered several situations that were extremely frustrating (mostly situations dealing with LOCs and EPRs) because I didn't know where to get the guidance I needed. My goal is to prevent that from happening to my peers. I believe that there is a need for a central repository of information, free from the restrictions the Air Force is forced to operate under, and I think the best source for that information is this website's visitors. They are in the trenches, stationed around the world, doing the work that actually carries the Air Force. They provide up-to-date information on what actually works and join together to provide mutual support.

Let me say that, even though I host a website about Air Force writing and policy, I am not some kind of expert. I rely on our readers' input and the AFIs for guidance. If anyone is smart in a subject area and would like to contribute or manage a page dedicated to their topic, I will gladly set up an FTP account for them. And, as always, if anyone spots inaccuracies, typos, dead links, or mistakes, please e-mail me at editor@airforcewriter.com so I can fix them.
