Staff Sergeant Brian F. Simpson distinguished himself by meritorious service as an Aviation Resource Management Craftsman while assigned to the 57th Weapons Squadron, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, from 11 March 2012 to 12 April 2015. During this period, the professional skill, leadership and ceaseless efforts of Sergeant Simpson contributed to the effectiveness and success of the Air Force Weapons School's demanding training mission resulting in the graduation of 24 C-17A weapons officers. Sergeant Simpson provided detailed administrative oversight of flight operations, aircrew currency events, and 234 flight authorizations. In addition, he developed a comprehensive aviation and ground events tracking system which facilitated flight crews becoming fully qualified to carry out training missions within an unprecedented period of time. As a direct result of Sergeant Simpson's innovative program, monthly changeover limitations were identified and streamlined, reducing discrepancies and delays by 50 percent. In addition, he was selected to instruct 13 multi-command based Aviation Resource Management Specialists without additional costs, saving the Air Force more than $10,000 while providing the most up to date curriculum available anywhere. Further, Sergeant Simpson led a six member Staff Assist Visit to prepare for wing level inspections resulting in two of his programs being adopted as the standard for all units. Finally, Sergeant Simpson managed a $350,000 Organizational Defense Travel Administrator budget which facilitated the movement of students and cadre through an intensive training syllabus, optimizing the use of available training opportunities. The distinctive accomplishments of Sergeant Simpson reflect great credit upon himself, the United States Air Force Warfare Center and the United States Air Force.
Master Sergeant Sheila W. Weyman distinguished herself by meritorious service while serving as NCOIC, Aviation Resource Management, 301st Rescue Squadron, 920th Operations Group, 920th Rescue Wing, Patrick Air Force Base, Florida. During this period, Sergeant Weyman's exemplary dedication, interpersonal skills, and perseverance resulted in the development and implementation of new procedures to improve mission review processes and verify qualification status for all aircrew members prior to flight. Moreover, she certified all source documents were accurate for aircrew mission planning, ensuring 13 shuttle and 32 rocket missions were supported without interruption. In addition, Sergeant Weyman deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and managed 57 aircrew members from seven units residing at three geographically separated locations which resulted in over 80 lives saved. Further, she assisted in coordinating flight crew paperwork during preparation for deployment in support of Joint Task Force Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita, which resulted in 1,050 saved. Finally, Sergeant Weyman developed innovative techniques to accomplish training goals which elevated two trainee's skills from marginal to proficient. The distinctive accomplishments of Sergeant Weyman reflect credit upon herself, the 301st Rescue Squadron, and the United States Air Force.
