Major Mendi Jenkins distinguished herself in the performance of outstanding service to the United States as Education and Training Chief, 436th Medical Group, Dover Air Force Base, Delaware, from October 2022 to January 2026. During this period, the outstanding professional skill, leadership, and ceaseless efforts of Major Jenkins resulted in major contributions to the effectiveness and success of the 436th Medical Group. She expertly led the Wing Life Support Program, directing seventy-four Basic Life Support and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation classes that enhanced emergency response capabilities for twenty thousand Total Force personnel. Additionally, Major Jenkins led a team of nine personnel through multiple staff transitions, guiding them to manage more than eight thousand five hundred training requirements with precision and professionalism. Furthermore, she acted as Deputy Chief Nurse, leading seventy-two nurses and medical technicians while driving readiness initiatives that propelled the group to first place in Air Mobility Command for training completion. Moreover, she authored critical updates to the Air Forces Central medical waiver handbook and forms, raising waiver approval rates from seventy-five to ninety-one percent and reducing aeromedical evacuations by thirty-one percent. Finally, her mentorship and vision fostered innovation across the group, culminating in two group-level quarterly awards and recognition as Air Mobility Command's Clinic of the Year for 2024 and 2025.
