Staff Sergeant Elgin F. Tedore distinguished himself by meritorious service as an Electrical Systems Craftsman, 87th Civil Engineer Squadron, 87th Mission Support Group, 87th Air Base Wing, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey, from XXXXXXXXXX to XXXXXXXXXX. During this period, Sergeant Tedore's unsurpassed professionalism was evident as he led 19 electricians in the completion of over one thousand work orders extending over 80 miles of electrical distribution lines. He orchestrated the installation of essential lightning protection systems for Base Radar Approach Control that protected airfield navigation assets and sustained critical operations. Additionally, Sergeant Tedore led the fabrication of three electrical circuits for temporary boiler units providing hot water for over 250 billeting residents. Moreover, he demonstrated outstanding technical expertise by identifying and replacing a faulty high voltage bushing weld that restored power to 13 mission essential facilities in less than two hours. Finally, his contributions led his squadron to two Unit Compliance Inspection "EXCELLENT" ratings and helped capture the Air Mobility Command Air Force Outstanding Large Civil Engineer Unit of the Year Award.
