Technical Sergeant Raymond R. Gilbert distinguished himself by meritorious service while assigned as Enlisted Aide to the Aeronautical Systems Center Commander and the Air Force Materiel Command Vice-Commander, Headquarters, Air Force Materiel Command from 15 September 2010 to 22 March 2013. In this important assignment, Technical Sergeant Gilbert's outstanding leadership and devotion to duty were instrumental factors in the resolution of many problems of major importance to the Air Force. As the Aide to top level General Officers, Sergeant Gilbert saved more than three thousand dollars in annual grounds maintenance, administered over 35 thousand dollars from the annual dwelling maintenance fund for General Officers, coordinated with Protocol Staff in preparation for Distinguished Visitor visits, prepared a luncheon for 35 Air Attaché spouses at the residence of the Air Force Chief of Staff at Fort Meyer in Washington D.C., and assisted in the preparation and service for an evening function for a Pakistani delegation hosted by the Air Force Inspector General Lt General Rogers. The distinctive accomplishments of Sergeant Gilbert reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.




Staff Sergeant Wayne K. Harbach distinguished himself by meritorious service while serving as Enlisted Aide to the Commander, Fifth Air Force, United States Forces Japan, Yokota Air Base, Japan. During this period, Sergeant Harbach planned, prepared, and coordinated 23 events and meals for the U.S. Forces Japan/ Fifth Air Force Commander's military and social obligations supporting high-level decision makers including U.S. Ambassadors, four-star generals, the Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force, and numerous Senior Japanese Self Defense Force and Government leaders, bolstering United States-Japanese relations. Additionally, he managed the 5,470 square foot General Officers Quarters, masterfully executed the General Officer Housing budget, and streamlined the process on two renovation projects with 13,000 dollars in cost savings. Further, he served as the commander's right hand and played a vital role in Japan's recovery efforts by facilitating the reception of the four-star JSF staff for Operations TOMODACHI and COMPACOM during humanitarian assistance and disaster relief events. His unwavering dedication was key in preparing Commander USFJ and Joint Support Forces to meet Operation Tomodachi leadership challenges with 24/7 support to the Commander and 17 HQ FOGOs. Finally, his attention to detail identified and corrected a twenty thousand dollar inventory control error ensuring 552 undocumented Special Command Position items were accounted for. The distinctive accomplishments of Sergeant Harbach reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
