Staff Sergeant Marcos A. Herrera distinguished himself by meritorious service while serving as Aircraft Instrument and Flight Control Systems Craftsman, 733d Air Mobility Squadron, 515th Air Mobility Operations Group, 515th Air Mobility Operations Wing, Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan from XXXXX XXXXX to XXXXX XXXXX. During this period, Sergeant Herrera generated 2,600 missions, airlifting 140,500 passengers, and 45,600 tons of cargo with a 95 percent departure reliability rate, capturing the 515th Air Mobility Operations Wing Maintenance Effectiveness Award for 2013. Additionally, Sergeant Herrera deployed for 120 days to Incirlik Air Base, Turkey, in support of Operations IRAQI FREEDOM and ENDURING FREEDOM, enabling 789 missions and bridging critical sustainment to warriors and enhancing terrorist eradication efforts.
