Interface Control Technician (ICT) Instructor
Airman First Class McKenzie R. Hannan distinguished herself by meritorious service as Interface Control Technician while assigned to the 623d Air Control Squadron, 18th Operation Group, 18th Wing, Kadena Air Base, Japan. During this period, Airman Hannan effectively managed Japan's Southwestern (SW) Sector datalink exchange network, enabling digital tactical Command and Control for 961 sorties over 162 square miles of coverage. Additionally, she became the 623d's first Airman ICT instructor, after accumulating 1,400 positional hours and was recognized by the Philippine Air Force 580th Aircraft Control and Warning Wing (580th ACWW) Commander for showcasing the Forward Interface Control Cell capabilities during Base-P 2020. Furthermore, Airman Hannan served as Unit Deployment Manager, coordinating 15 large team movements for 98 deployment taskings, to include supporting a protective Command and Control operation in support of the Vice President of the United States at the 6th U.S. ASEAN Summit. Moreover, she supported eight major Base Honor Guard events and volunteered during three Airshows as the Squadron Booster Club Treasurer, raising 5,000 dollars. Finally, Airman Hannan achieved Airman of the Year 2019 and Cope North Top Performer Award for skillfully posturing the first ever FICC in the Air Force, expanding Agile Combat Employment capabilities. Interface Control Technician
Technical Sergeant Ashley N. Celestin distinguished herself by meritorious service while serving as Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge, Operations Readiness, 606th Air Control Squadron, 52nd Operations Group, 52nd Fighter Wing, Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany. During this period, Sergeant Celestin deployed three times as an Interface Control Technician in support of Operations NEW DAWN, IRAQI FREEDOM, and ENDURING FREEDOM covering over 495,000 square miles of data links. Additionally, as Electronic Protection Technician, she conducted 58 radar evaluations of Afghanistan's Airspace that helped neutralize 3,000 insurgents. Moreover, as the squadron's link manager, Sergeant Celestin strengthened North Atlantic Treaty Organization's Link 16 network by identifying and correcting 30 critical errors in United States European Command's Operations Tasking Link. Further, she created Operations' on-the-job Master Training Plan, which contributed to the 52nd Fighter Wing '09 United States Armed Forces Europe UCI Excellent rating. Finally, Sergeant Celestin managed the assembly and teardown of the 26 million dollar world-wide deployable Command and Control equipment to support United States and North Atlantic Treaty Organization operations. Interface Control Technician
Senior Airman Amanda N. Tucker distinguished herself by meritorious service while serving as Interface Control Technician, 71st Expeditionary Air Control Squadron, 379th Expeditionary Operations Group, 379th Air Expeditionary Wing, Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar. During this period, Airman Tucker managed 72 data links while amassing 700 Link-16 and Joint Range Extension Protocol Charlie hours, enabling command and control for 1,234 Close Air Support missions and 2,345 kinetic events in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM and the Air Defense of the Arabian Gulf. Additionally, she uploaded 276 Air Tasking Orders into the Battlespace Command and Control System, allowing expeditious identification of more than 11,000 Joint Force Air Component Commander directed combat sorties. Furthermore, Airman Tucker maintained 56 Tactical Data Links with a 99 percent mission effectiveness rate supporting the Air Defense of the Arabian Gulf mission, which ensured the safety of the Combined Forces Air Component Commander's Defended Asset List. Finally, Airman Tucker's outstanding contributions to Operation ENDURING FREEDOM and the Air Defense of the Arabian Gulf were recognized with her selection as 71st Expeditionary Air Control Squadron Airman of the Quarter. OIC, Joint Interface Control Center
Major Albert McDonald distinguished himself by meritorious service while serving as OIC, 603rd Air Operations Center (AOC) Joint Interface Control Center, 3rd Air Force, Ramstein Air Base, Germany. During this period, the outstanding professional skill, leadership, and ceaseless efforts of Major McDonald enabled the 603rd AOC Joint Interface Control Center to expeditiously and successfully support joint and combined forces in EUCOM and AFRICOM in key operational missions including Operations ODYSSEY DAWN, UNIFIED PROTECTOR, NEW DAWN, SHARP SENTRY, and ATLANTIC SENTRY. His tenacity toward successful unity of effort led to major contributions to the effectiveness and success of Air Force Personnel Recovery Control Center, Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense, and Joint Link Coordination Training, to include Allied Link capabilities to over 20 ships, 153 aircraft, achievement of over 20 BMD Exercises, 2,132 sorties, over 1,000 hours of Joint Knowledge, and Operational Readiness Inspection Credit. The distinctive accomplishments of Major McDonald reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
