Staff Sergeant Zion W. Carver distinguished himself by meritorious service while serving as a member of the Joint Task Force District of Columbia Mayor Cell in support of the 60th Presidential Inauguration, Washington, District of Columbia. Sergeant Carver's outstanding professionalism, exceptional leadership, and steadfast dedication were instrumental to the success of one of the nation's most high profile National Special Security Events. He expertly coordinated complex facility operations and overcame significant logistical challenges, directly enhancing the quality of life and operational readiness for approximately 8,000 National Guard Soldiers and Airmen from more than 40 states, territories, and the District of Columbia. Demonstrating composure and sound judgment under pressure, Sergeant Carver delivered critical mission support which ensured uninterrupted operations and contributed directly to the safe and effective execution of this historic event. The distinctive accomplishments of Staff Sergeant Carver reflect great credit upon himself, the District of Columbia Air National Guard, and the United States Air Force.
