Knowledge Operations Manager
Technical Sergeant Elizabeth P. Batan distinguished herself by meritorious service as Knowledge Operations Manager while assigned to Air Force Central Command, Communication Operations Division, Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina from 20 October 2018 to 21 October 2020. During this period, she led the 2.2 million dollar Electronic Records Management project that preserved 15 terabytes of records to archive, exceeding the Higher Head Quarter's timeline and established Air Force Records Office force wide standards. In addition, she coordinated two Expeditionary Communication Squadron Commander's Orientation and managed the first ever Secret level Video Teleconferenced briefings with 17 briefers for 15 departments. Her efforts prepared 28 Senior Leaders for Area of Responsibility's post priorities. Lastly, Sergeant Batan reinforced the garrison Privacy Act program. She rallied the Chief of Staff and the A6 after identifying the vulnerability of the Electronic Management System, which resulted in a bolstered Operational Security of 9,000 users' information. The distinctive accomplishments of Sergeant Batan reflect great credit upon herself and the United States Air Force.
Knowledge Operations Journeyman
Senior Airman Fernando Galvez distinguished himself by outstanding achievement while serving as Knowledge Operations Journeyman, 55th Maintenance Group, 55th Wing, Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska. During this period, Airman Galvez's diligence and quick response in successfully identifying eight computers involved in a Classified Message Incident limited the loss of data to key group staff personnel and prevented further contamination of Offutt's mission critical network. In addition, as a vital member of the group's Client System Administrator team, he isolated forty-seven computer desktop failures, secured parts, and restored the systems, resulting in minimal work delays for key flightline personnel and a savings to the Air force of over twenty-two thousand dollars. Finally, in preparation for the Group's 2009 Unit Compliance Inspection, Airman Galvez reviewed every process described within his career field and provided detailed descriptions for over 180 line items from the UCI checklist, creating continuity that will be used for future routine uses and inspections. The distinctive accomplishments of Airman Galvez reflect great credit upon himself. the 55th Maintenance Group and the United States Air Force.
