Master Sergeant Samuel Delgado distinguished himself in the performance of outstanding service to the United States as Flight Chief, Mobility Operations Division, 618th Air Operations Center, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. During this period, Sergeant Delgado led a team of 63 total force Airmen to command and control 48,000 missions globally, transferring 2.3 million passengers and delivering over a million tons of cargo. In addition, he orchestrated the response to the 2019 attack on the United States Embassy in Baghdad by synchronizing operations at eight airfields in support of 120 sorties, culminating in the delivery of more than one thousand troops and five hundred tons of ammo and equipment as an emphatic show of force to deter further regional aggression. Further, Sergeant Delgado helped supplement stressed supply chains during the global covid-19 pandemic to meet global medical needs by overseeing 140 missions and delivering seven million test kits and vaccines internationally. Moreover, his team overcame obstacles to transport 9,000 passengers around the globe despite international travel restrictions, meeting combatant command requirements during the pandemic. Finally, he guided and sustained Polish airfield air traffic, efficiently integrating military and civilian airlift operations and posturing ten thousand troops, providing aid to Ukraine and securing the North Atlantic Treaty Organization's eastern border. The singularly distinctive accomplishments of Sergeant Delgado reflect great credit upon himself, the 618th Air Operations Center and the United States Air Force.
