Senior Airman Christopher L Bailey distinguished himself by meritorious service while serving as Radio Transmission Systems Journeyman, 744th Communications Squadron, 844th Communications Group, Joint Base Andrews, Maryland. During this period, Airman Bailey maintained the 24 million dollar Joint Base Andrews Land Mobile Radio trunk system, providing uninterrupted secure communications for the National Capital Region. Moreover, he reconfigured Base Operations Ultra High Frequency (UHF) frequency assignments, optimizing the use of finite bandwidth resources and increasing capacity. Airman Bailey participated in the installation of four additional Giant Voice stacks, increasing Joint Base Andrew's emergency mass notification system's coverage by 50 percent. Additionally, he was hand-picked to setup and run communications for the 2010 Nuclear Security Summit, supporting 42 visiting world leaders. Lastly, Airman Bailey programmed over 850 Land Mobile Radios and installed radio systems for three Joint Service Open Houses, facilitating the safety of spectators and the success of these events.
