Transportation Citations


Staff Sergeant Ashley B. Dechant distinguished herself by meritorious service while assigned as Transportation Journeyman, 109th Logistics Readiness Squadron, 109th Air Wing, Stratton Air National Guard Base, Scotia, New York, from XXXXXXXXX to XXXXXXXXXX. During this period, Staff Sergeant Dechant's outstanding service as an Air Transportation Journeyman contributed immeasurably to the 109th Air Wing missions in Greenland and Antarctica. Working long hours under austere weather conditions, while TDY nine times over the past three years, she performed all facets of the transportation career field by arranging aerial delivery, fleet services, passenger and cargo processing, and traffic management functions. Sergeant Dechant's hard work and dedication to duty ensured over 2,000 passengers and 300 tons of cargo were transported to and from both Greenland and Antarctica and contributed to the Wing's exceptional performance in support of both Polar missions. In addition, she acquired specialized skills in Hazardous Materials, Load Planning, and the Cargo Movement Operations System (CMOS) which made her a force multiplier for the Air Transportation career field. Finally, she coordinated three unit events which contributed to high morale and cohesiveness within the Small Air Terminal. The distinctive accomplishments of Sergeant Dechant reflect great credit upon herself, the 109th Logistics Readiness Squadron and the United States Air Force.
