During this period, Sergeant Koenig acted as the squadron lead for updating firmware on 40 PRC-163 multi-channel broadband radios, installing eight waveforms and enabling full equipment connectivity. Additionally, Sergeant Koenig played a pivotal role during the 1-36 Infantry Battalion VALEX, when he provided communications relay for the Battalion commander after the command section's radios failed during Phase 1 of the operation.
