It is my distinct honor and highest privilege to provide this letter of recommendation for Mr. Moore as he seeks a commission as an officer in the United States Air Force. Having observed his academic and leadership progression closely over several years, I can state without hesitation that Mr. Moore exemplifies the caliber of intellect, character, and selfless leadership required of an Air Force officer. He embodies the core tenets of Integrity First, Service Before Self, and Excellence in All We Do.

Mr. Moore's aptitude for command was clearly demonstrated through his selection as one of only five student mentors within our institution's highly selective Leadership Institute. In this role, he was entrusted with mentoring and developing more than fifty junior students across comprehensive leadership seminars and demanding tactical exercises. His peers recognized his innate authority during a high-stakes, elimination-style strategic simulation. When opposing teams were tasked with electing a single leader to direct time-sensitive operations, Mr. Moore was chosen unanimously by his fellow students. Under acute competitive pressure, he maintained absolute composure, exercised sound judgment, and delegated responsibilities with precision, steering his team to decisive victory. Both his peers and senior program cadre singled him out for his calm presence and steady hand under stress vital traits for anyone who will lead airmen in contested operational environments.

Beyond simulated scenarios, Mr. Moore has demonstrated sustained accountability and technical acumen in real-world team settings. As the lead for a six-person Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) project, he navigated significant operational and interpersonal hurdles. When confronted with team disengagement that threatened the project's delivery, he did not assign blame or retreat; instead, he reinforced mutual accountability, reignited team focus, and aligned individual roles with mission success. Demonstrating rare moral courage and uncompromising integrity, Mr. Moore directly approached faculty to address structural accountability concerns, prioritizing organizational fairness and project excellence over personal comfort. Under his direction, the team rallied to deliver a superior final product, forging lasting cohesion and trust.

Mr. Moore's persistent "can-do" ethos and infectious dedication have left a permanent mark on our institution. In recognition of his exceptional attitude, ethical leadership, and tangible contributions to our campus culture, the Provost honored him with the WILCO Award a distinction created specifically to recognize Mr. Moore's singular impact. This accolade has since been codified as a perpetual legacy award for future leaders at our institution, serving as enduring proof of his positive influence and standard of excellence.

Leadership in the United States Air Force demands more than technical competence; it requires officers of unimpeachable character, emotional resilience, and the moral strength to inspire others. Mr. Moore possesses all of these attributes in abundance. He has consistently demonstrated the capacity to think strategically, act decisively, and lead with empathy and fortitude. I give Mr. Moore my highest, unreserved recommendation for selection to Officer Training School and commissioning in the United States Air Force. Please do not hesitate to contact me directly if you require any additional information.

Very Respectfully,
Joshua G. Reid
