Staff Sergeant Courtney M Kalb distinguished herself by outstanding achievement while serving as Noncommissioned Officer in Charge, 445th Aeromedical Staging Squadron, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base Ohio, from 2 August 2017 to 27 August 2017. During this period, Sergeant Kalb's superior professionalism, knowledge, and leadership aided in a rating of Outstanding for the 445th Aeromedical Staging Squadron as it participated in Patriot Warrior 2017. She was an integral part in the training of 445th members during the exercise, resulting in the successful construction and tear down of over 30 Alaskan Tents as well as the fully functioning 50 bed Enroute Patient Staging Facility. Master Sergeant Bradley R Belcher distinguished himself by meritorious service while serving as Aerospace Medical Technician, 459th Aeromedical Staging Squadron (ASTS), 459th Air Refueling Wing (ARW), Joint Base Andrews, Maryland, from 23 July 2011 to 11 August 2014. During this period, Sergeant Belcher supported numerous exercises and operational deployments including two Operational Readiness Evaluations and an Operational Readiness Inspection, both with a grade of Satisfactory, a Health Services Inspection with a squadron grade of Excellent, and deployed twenty four Airmen to six locations across four MAJCOMs. Additionally, his meticulous oversight of the Medical Readiness Office programs, including training, tracking and documentation of all required items, contributed greatly to the 459th ASTS squadron's overall success in the 2012 HSI and garnered praise from the AFIA inspection team. Further, as NCOIC for Medical Readiness, he ensured his fellow Airmen were prepared for the 2013 Nuclear Operational Readiness Inspection resulting in the 459th ARW being certified in the nuclear mission. Finally, his modernization of the unit training room added 16 additional computers and contributed to a thirty percent reduction in training deficiencies. Technical Sergeant Sheila H. Aguinaldo distinguished herself by meritorious service while serving as Aerospace Medical Technician, 302d Aeromedical Staging Squadron, 302d Airlift Wing, Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado from 28 March 2012 to 5 October 2015. During this period, Sergeant Aguinaldo was appointed to oversee the tracking, scheduling, and completion of individual medical readiness requirements for over 1300 302d Airlift Wing Airmen. By implementing a new method of tracking due or overdue members and increasing communication with squadron unit health monitors, 302d Airlift Wing overall individual medical readiness rose from 76 percent in April 2015 to 85 percent in August 2015. The nine percent increase of individual medical readiness ensured an additional 117 Airmen were medically prepared to deploy worldwide in support of United States military operations and raised the 302d Airlift Wing from 22nd to 5th in overall Wing medical readiness in the United States Air Force Reserves. Master Sergeant Danielle B Soutermeyer distinguished herself by meritorious service while serving as Administrative Flight Chief, 452d Aeromedical Staging Squadron, 452d Air Mobility Wing, March Air Reserve Base, California. During this period, Sergeant Soutermeyer served as Administrative Flight Chief, Logistics Noncommissioned Officer in Charge, and Unit Deployment Monitor for the 452d Aeromedical Staging Squadron. She provided supplies and equipment for a 150-bed Contingency Aeromedical Staging Facility and was responsible for equipment and war reserve materiel valued at more than 700,000 dollars. She utilized the Plexus system for tracking patient movement items in the deployed environment and coordinated maintenance activities with the closest Medical Equipment Repair Center. Additionally, she revised the pre-deployment checklist and reduced the out-processing waiting line from three hours to one hour. Further, Sergeant Soutermeyer supervised the review of 150 members' standard readiness folders, which ensured 100 percent accuracy for mission readiness. Finally, her professional skill, medical materiel knowledge, and leadership led to her being handpicked by the 452d Medical Group Commander to coordinate supplies for two South American humanitarian missions, where over 5,900 patients received medical treatment. Senior Master Sergeant Mario D Rivera distinguished himself in the performance of outstanding service to the United States as First Sergeant while assigned to the 752nd Medical Squadron and 452nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadrons, March Air Reserve Base, California, from 1 July 2012 to 12 August 2016. During this period, within the 752nd Medical Squadron, Sergeant Rivera deployed as First Sergeant and co-planned an Overseas Annual Tour mission to Daegu Contingency Base, South Korea which resulted in zero personnel issues and 100 percent Expeditionary Medical Support training accomplished. Additionally, he instituted a new process for unit quarterly boards and increased squadron winning for 452nd Medical Group by more than 90 percent. In less than 15 months, his rapport with squadron personnel transformed unit morale and cohesion which effectively drove the unit climate survey First Sergeant influence from 37 percent to 89 percent. In 2013, he was selected as 452nd Air Mobility Wing First Sergeant of the Year and was elected by his peers to the office of President of the 452nd Air Mobility Wing First Sergeant Council. During his tenure as President, the First Sergeant Council produced a record year for the annual 452nd Air Mobility Wing Awards Banquet with over 300 guests and recognized 46 Airmen, making it the largest to date. Finally, he facilitated Key Spouse program training for 21 units and exceeded the Wing program goal by one hundred percent, improving quality of life for over 4,000 wing personnel. Staff Sergeant Jane L Christenson distinguished herself by meritorious service while serving as NCOIC, Dermatology Clinic, 779th Medical Operations Squadron, 79th Medical Wing, Joint Base Andrews, Maryland, from March 2012 to April 2015. During this period, Sergeant Christenson developed a dermatology and diabetes course which increased awareness of common skin diseases and risks to 166 patients annually. In addition, she identified and rectified over 20 Infection Control discrepancies, directly contributing to the 779th Medical Group's "Outstanding" inspection score. Further, while augmented to the Aeromedical Staging Facility, she led 12 CONUS and overseas missions while directing 20 flightline personnel and successfully coordinated NCR interfacility transfers of 232 AE patients. Moreover, she managed a 45 bed unit where she organized patient care and preparation for AE flights and was key to the safe launch and recovery of more than three thousand wounded warriors. Lastly, Sergeant Christenson was selected to represent the Air Force on a five-member ACLS team for the Presidential State of the Union Address, ensuring the safety and security of our nation's top leaders. Captain Lynn N Hayes distinguished herself by meritorious service while serving as Orthopedics Nurse Manager, 663d Surgical Services Team, 633d Medical Group, Langley Air Force Base, Virginia. During this period, Captain Hayes provided leadership for the fastest expanding flight within an Air Combat Command hospital. She managed more than 12,000 orthopedic and podiatry visits and over one thousand orthopedic surgeries annually for eight surgeons, serving a 40,000 member beneficiary population. Recognized as an outstanding Aeromedical Staging Facility registered nurse, Captain Hayes coordinated with ten joint agencies and executed more than 240 missions supporting 2,200 patients that were safely transported to a higher echelon of care. Additionally, while assigned to the same day surgery and post anesthesia care unit as charge nurse, she oversaw 17 medical personnel and expertly cared for 660 post operative patients. Finally, as charge nurse in the emergency department, Captain Hayes triaged 15,000 patients, treating 7,000 ill and injured patients, contributing to the Outstanding Unit award. Major Christina M Gaskins distinguished herself by meritorious service while serving as Orthopedics Senior Nurse, Contingency Aeromedical Staging Facility, 451st Air Expeditionary Wing, Kandahar, Afghanistan. During this period, Major Gaskins' decisive leadership and professional skill were key to the successful Aerovac patient movements of 132 patients of which 52 were critically ill. She identified a Squadron training ACLS shortfall and was instrumental in providing the credentialing and maintaining the qualifications of all squadron personnel. Additionally, her clinical expertise ensured 100 percent RSV training and proficiency, providing multiple inservices ranging from physical assessments to Aerovac equipment. Further, she produced the CASF Outpatient Guideline communication sheet which was adopted by the Role 3 NATO hospital, sister services, and NATO alliances on Kandahar. Moreover, she initiated the Squadron's first ever Emergency Procedure instruction and established an emergency code cart in the flight. Finally, after she identified a squadron potential occupational hearing hazard, she made changes to the Squadron reporting instruction, requiring all new members to obtain a baseline audiogram prior to deployment, preventing future manpower and financial losses.
