Technical Sergeant Gregory N. Mitchell, United States Air Force, distinguished himself by exceptionally meritorious service as Noncommissioned Officer in Charge, Command Post, Execution Squadron, Operations Wing, E-3 Component, North Atlantic Treaty Organization's Airborne Early Warning and Control Force, Geilenkirchen Air Base, Germany from 2 November 2017 to 30 November 2021. During this period, Sergeant Mitchell diagnosed six months of emergency action message deficiencies while providing 56 hours of support to resolve communication channels for leadership, enabling the restoration of Component emergency communication links. Additionally, Sergeant Mitchell led two team members while deployed to Forward Operating Base, Konya, Turkey, to inspect more than three hundred readiness items which identified multiple data access limiting factors, aligning facilities' scheduling to support the North Atlantic Council directed taskings. Moreover, Sergeant Mitchell provided significant command and control support for forty-four Defeat Islamic State of Irag and Syria missions, where he expedited critical communications for deployed Commanders. He synchronized the Operations Wing with United States Central Command to provide Air Domain Awareness for five hundred thousand square miles during surveillance and communication missions. Finally, as a duty controller, Sergeant Mitchell contributed to eighteen E-3A missions during Exercise TRIDENT JUNCTURE and was essential to North Atlantic Treaty Organization's largest post cold war exercise which involved thirty-one countries and fifty thousand participants. The distinctive accomplishment of Sergeant Mitchell reflect credit upon himself, the United State Air Force and the Department of Defense.
